Step into 2014 with your Curl-Resolutions
It is that time of the year to say goodbye to 2013 and embrace the new year. The new year has a way of making you feel renewed and as if you have a second chance at trying to achieve your goals. It is motivating and inspiring. So, this is the perfect time to really commit to going natural and embrace your curls. If you are already natural, commit to treating your curls with more tender love and care or reaching other goals that have gotten lost along the way.
To help you get started on your 2014 Curl-resolutions, here are mine:
1. Commit to regularly moisturizing my hair- I have a tendency to either forget to moisturize or not do it enough. My hair definitely suffers because of it.
2. Clip split ends- Trusting a person to come near my curls with scissors takes a lot of courage that I sometimes do not have which leave my ends looking like ruffled feathers.
3. Reach bra strap length by using protective styling and no heat- I really don’t use heat very much. Maybe 1 to 2 times a year. However, I am going to throw out the heat and use effective protective styles to help my hair retain length. I want to see bra strap length by the end of the year!
The key to making great Curl-Resolutions and sticking to them is to make them achievable and simple. Make sure they are things that you can do and have time for. If you don’t have time or the resources to do protective styles and don’t predict that you will within the year, don’t put it on your list. You can still do it, but without pressure. Give yourself the entire year to reach your resolutions. If you reach one or two before the year is over like reaching a certain length goal, keep on going! Don’t stop there!

What are your Curl-Resolutions this upcoming New Year?
Great post, and reading this made me decide that my resolution is to make 2014 the year of healthy, natural hair! My resolution is to go 6 months silicone, paraben and sulfate free and straight free. 🙂 Wish me luck!!
