3 Ways to Stay Motivated After You Big Chop

Big chopping isn’t easy! Stay motivated with these 3 tips.

Going natural is nothing short of amazing. The whole getting to know your natural curly texture and how to nurture it is an indescribable feeling. So why do you feel bald and hideous now that you’ve big chopped?

Well, let me start by saying that it is totally natural (no pun intended) to feel out of your comfort zone and question your unquestionable sexiness. Here are a few ways to boost your confidence when you are feeling unsure about your new cropped do:

1. Put a picture of you with permed hair next to picture of yourself now followed by a picture of someone who has hair that inspires you (INSPIRE not INCITE ENVY) to continue your journey. Make sure to put them in a place that you go everyday like your vanity or bathroom mirror. It is a daily reminder of where you were, how far you’ve come, and the wonderful things to come.

2. Write down the reasons why you have decided to make such a large change. Include things like what you didn’t like about your hair before and what you want for your natural hair. This will remind you why you started this exciting journey.

3. Have fun with your hair every chance you get. So what your hair is short. Does that mean you can’t change it up with hair clips, headbands, or turbans? Rock the latest styles in hair accessories. Look up a few short hair tutorials to see what cool things you can do that you never could before with chemically processed hair. For some ideas, check out the 5 ways to dress up your TWA.

You are on fabulous journey to get in touch with your original unadulterated self and there will be kinks in the road (pun intended). It is a part of the journey and you will be thanking yourself at the end of it.
